Jonah Hill has some advice for filming sex scenes: It’s best to do it with a friend. Otherwise, it’s going to get awkward.
When it came time to film the sex scene briefly shown in the red-band trailer for Hill’s upcoming film “The Sitter,” he was lucky enough to be working with a friend. “Ari Graynor plays my girlfriend, and she’s great. We’re really good friends, so it was not weird or anything,” he told us during “MTV First.” “It was actually really funny, and we laughed about it. She was so committed and cool.”
In “The Sitter,” Hill plays Noah Jaybird, arguably the world’s worst babysitter. Noah has more than a healthy sexual appetite, and when Graynor’s character promises to go all the way with him if he makes it to a party, he has little choice but to take the kids along for the ride.
For Hill, the key to surviving a sex scene is to make sure you’re friends with your partner beforehand. “If you’re friends with the person, it’s funny,” he explained. “If you’re not, it’s just awkward.”
But “funny” is the best you’re going to do, Hill said. “It’s never sexy. You know what I mean? It’s never like, ‘Aw, man, that was really sexy,’” Hill said. “It’s like 8 a.m., and they’ve been drinking coffee. It’s very mechanical, and there are 800 burly crew dudes around. There’s not a strong vibe.”
Then again, that’s not too different from Hill’s own sex life. “It’s like when I have sex in real life: 8 a.m., coffee, mechanical crew members,” he joked.
“The Sitter” hits theaters on December 9.

Apolo Ohno Eyes NYC Marathon: Bring It On

Olympic speedskating champion Apolo Anton Ohno has never run more than 20 miles, but his goal is to finish the 2011 New York City Marathon in under 3.5 hours.

That’s a competitive time for any runner, but especially for a first-time marathoner. But then again, Apolo, an 8-time Olympic medalist, isn’t just any guy.
Ohno, who is the most decorated American winter Olympian (2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze) is excited by the challenge the grueling 26.2-mile NYC Marathon poses.

“I’m not nervous; I’m excited,” Apolo told TheImproper at an NYC press event sponsored by sandwich chain Subway on Nov. 4, 2011.
“I wish I ran the race last week! I wish I could do it now,” he joked, explaining that tapering and resting this week has been difficult for him.
Ohno, who completed the Chicago half-marathon on Sept. 11 in an impressive 1:40:59, says his hectic travel itinerary has made his sleep schedule erratic, so proper rest is a major obstacle.

Apolo, who has been a sprinter all his life, says endurance training was never a part of his training regimen for speedskating, so running long distances is new to him.
“For 15 years I have trained to sprint for 10 seconds, rest, sprint for 10 seconds, rest,” says Ohn, 29. “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’m really starting to enjoy this.
“I’m enjoying the challenge.”
The 2011 New York City Marathon takes place Nov. 6.
