San Antonio high school student Gabriel Mendoza, 18, was jailed Sunday after a cell phone video was made of a nude female classmate and then shown to other students.
Mendoza was in the Bexar County Jail Sunday in lieu of $ 5,000 bond, charged with improper photography.
An arrest warrant affidavit says students reported the video to administrators at South San Antonio High School.
The San Antonio Express-News reported that school officials confiscated the cell phone and found the video.
San Antonio police arrested a young man accused of videotaping a nude classmate and showing the footage to other students.
Gabriel Mendoza, 18, was arrested Friday night and charged with improper photography or visual recording, a state jail felony. Bail was set at $5,000.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, students approached officials at South San Antonio High Schoolwith concerns about “sexting,” a slang term for the use of a cell phone or other devices to distribute images or video of sexually explicit content.
Police said the victim told officials that Mendoza had been distributing nude images of her. Mendoza’s cell phone was confiscated, and investigators discovered video footage of the victim.
