Rihanna certainly does sexy well, and never better than when she was named Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive on Tuesday. The occasion is to be marked with the November 2011 cover carrying a huge photo of Rihanna naked.
Barbados-born Rihanna has spent the last five years rising to the top of pop stardom. Her club anthems are famous across continents and she is never far away from internet headlines. But as well as her music, she’s well known for her dance moves that ooze eroticism. She slithers and slides like it all comes naturally to her.
And to her, it’s no big deal.
“At the end of a concert, I don’t feel like I’ve been this sexy thing. Really, I don’t even think about it,” she tells Esquire magazine, which is carrying the photo of Rihanna naked.
She can’t be serious, surely? Well, she does admit she can be sexy when the song calls for it, like S&M or Skin. Oh and she has a section in her show called Sex and pulls men out of the audience to bump and grind with them at her concerts.
Yeah, Rihanna does sexy well, but she says it is all subconscious, she says in the interview, but going on,
“I could see What’s My Name? — the dancing is pretty sexy. Rude Boy.”
So, actually, most of your songs are sexy then, Rihanna?
She was more open in her Glamour magazine interview this month, where she admitted that she was being sexy. But it isn’t her, Rihanna. It’s all the characters she plays that are sexy.
She also spoke out about the 2009 attack by Chris Brown, her then boyfriend. She says she likes the music he makes now and he has down well for himself, “even when the world seemed like it was against him.”
Yes, Rihanna knows how to market herself very well indeed, and her body speaks very articulately for her. Is she or is she not the sexiest woman alive?
